Jim Malone is a Dundee firefighter and Secretary of Tayside Fire Brigades Union and serves on the FBU’s Scottish Regional Committee. Jim has a longstanding record as a campaigning trade unionist. He says: “As an active trade unionist I have seen first hand the impact of New Labour’s fixation with privatisation and the rigged freemarket.“New Labour is no longer a party that trade unionists can look to to defend our interests. It is time we had a party prepared to stand up for working class people and public services.” Jim Malone, if elected, will live on the wage of a skilled worker, not the inflated£52,000 the rest of the MSPs take home.
