Galloway Joins Sheridan on Campaign |

George Galloway arrived in Scotland today to support Solidarity's election campaign, and has joined Tommy Sheridan in welcoming the imminent collapse of Labour's majority in Scotland. The Respect MP, fresh from a tour of Central Asia, said:
"Blair's government is one of the most corrupt, venal and criminal in British history, and certainly in my lifetime. Blair and that coterie of ex-socialists he's gathered around him have murdered the Labour Party founded by that great Scot, Keir Hardie, and when you have political midgets like Jack McConnell calling themselves socialists, you know you're living in an upside down world. I look forward to getting up to Scotland and sticking the boot in."

Tommy Sheridan agreed with Galloway's sentiments, a friend and political ally for many years.
"George and I have marched and campaigned together, been arrested together, and now I look forward to us sharing the same platform at meetings in Edinburgh and Glasgow together. His standing as a leader of the international antiwar movement is well deserved, and who will ever forget him ripping apart those American neocons during a Senate hearing in Washington a couple of years ago?"
Sheridan went on to say:
"As for Tony Blair, George is bang on. With the cash for peerages investigation gathering pace, we're still waiting to see if he'll be leaving Downing Street in the back of a limousine or in the back of a polis van."
Galloway arrives in Scotland on today for the first of four meetings, beginning with a lunchtime meeting in Edinburgh followed by three back to back meetings in Glasgow, culminating in a mass rally at Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall tonight.
