Solidarity takes the War to Glasgow East Print E-mail

Solidarity candidate Tricia Mcleish will today be campaigning in the Glasgow East bye election raising the issue of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Tricia began her day by appearing in a live debate on Radio Scotland at 7.30 she said;

In a massive show of support for the Sheridan 7 and defiance of Rupert Murdoch over 250 people packed Langside Halls on the 7th June to attend the Defend Tommy Sheridan / Defend the Sheridan 7 rally.

 Messages of support were read from Bob Crow and Riccky Tomlinson and others who were unable to attend, however, a series of impassioned speeches were heard from prominent Trade Union speakers and Misscarriages of Justice speakers amongst others including Tommy Sheridan.

Fortunately most speeches were recorded and some of these can be replayed from You Tube by clicking on the links below

Solidarity members charged with perjury Print E-mail
Solidarity today condemned as scandalous and unprecedented the widening vendetta being pursued by Lothian and Borders Police and the Scottish Crown office against our party and Tommy Sheridan.

We can today confirm that Solidarity members Jock Penman, our National Secretary Graeme McIver and our co-convener Rosemary Byrne have all now been charged with perjury by Lothian and Borders police. We expect that other Solidarity members will also be charged in the coming days.

Their "crime" in the eyes of the Murdoch empire, the police and sections of the Scottish legal establishment has been to stand shoulder-to shoulder with Tommy Sheridan throughout his defamation case and since.
