Upcoming proposals from the Department of Education will ask university lecturers to monitor their Muslim and Asian students and report their observations to Special Branch. Meanwhile, the Tayside Special Branch Community Contact Unit monitors Muslim students and community members at their homes, jobs and universities.
In response, the Muslim Association of Britain, Solidarity and Scotland Against Criminalising Communities have called the public meeting, "Taking Liberties," at 7:30PM on Monday, 6 November at the Baxter Suites, Tower Building, University of Dundee. The meeting is also supported by Dundee Trades Union Council and the Dundee University UCU branch.
