James Watt College North Ayrshire campus

Solidarity wishes to add our support to the campaign organised by students at James Watt College protesting against the decision to slash bursaries in the final weeks of the college term.

The decision by the college management, announced with only two weeks notice, means that many students fear they will be unable to complete their studies. Local National Union of Students (NUS) members and the James Watt Students Association have called the bursary cut unacceptable and organised a protest at the North Ayrshire, Kilwinning campus on Wednesday 2nd of June.

Students have urged supporters to contact the college’s management to complain at the decision.

The Israeli navy, on Monday 31st May, massacred at least 10 peaceful, unarmed citizens from many different countries sailing to Gaza with humanitarian aid.

Video footage shows that Israeli troops had already fired on the unarmed aid workers from Naval ships killing two, before boarding via helicopter, and continuing their carnage. The massacre took place in international waters, 65 km off the coast of Gaza.

Israel has NO JURISDICTION in international waters and no justification for firing on, or boarding the aid vessels.
