ISRAEL MASSACRES INTERNATIONALS TAKING AID TO GAZA

Image
Demonstrate for Gaza & Isolate the rogue State of Israel The Israeli navy this morning massacred at least 10 peaceful, unarmed citizens from many different countries sailing to Gaza with humanitarian aid.  The massacre took place in international waters, 65 km off the coast of Gaza.  Over 700 other participants have been abducted to Israel by the Israeli military.  Israel's brutal siege of Gaza is now entering its fourth year, causing immense suffering.  The British government has not only supported this medieval siege; it has covered up for previous Israeli attacks on humanitarian ships and the kidnapping of British citizens by the Israeli navy.

The new Foreign Minister, Hague, has promised to remove provisions in British law that would allow the arrest and trial of those who commit such crimes.  Scottish PSC calls on people of conscience to assemble in their town centres at the earliest to demand:an immediate end to British support for the blockade of Gaza the Scottish government support the call from the UN's Judge Goldstone for Israel to appear before the International Criminal Court for its crimes against humanity the rogue state of Israel is stripped of its nuclear weapons Scottish councils, universities and other institutions to boycott all Israeli produce, companies and institutions linked to the Israeli state

Brian Smith - UNISON

UNISON workers in libraries, sports centres, museums and community centres across Glasgow will take strike action on Friday 28 and Monday 31 May in a dispute over wage cuts.

Unions at Culture Sport Glasgow (CSG) are fighting a 10% wage cut for 150 workers, a pay freeze for all other staff and cuts in public holidays and overtime rates.

UNISON Glasgow Branch Secretary Brian Smith said:

“Our members provide culture and sport services across Glasgow, and we want to defend the quality services which the people of Glasgow deserve. Along with the other unions, Unite, GMB and BECTU, we have tried to persuade Culture Sport Glasgow not to carry out these attacks. Whilst we recognise the wide disruption that this strike action will cause, we have been left with no option.”

The campaigning organisation Families Against Corporate Killers (fack) released the following statement;

Brian and Colin were killed when their land rover was crushed by a 100 tonne dump truck on 26th February 2007 at Pennyvenie mine in Ayr . Their employer, Scottish Coal was fined £400,000 for breaches of safety regulation which caused the deaths,see links below.

This was the second of three fatal incidents in 8 years at the Pennyvennie site: Neil Hodge was killed in June 2000, and Jim Griffin in January 2008, both in vehicle crushing incidents.  FACK fervently hope this FAI will be lay bare the causes of the serial killing on this site and put a stop to further deaths.
